Well, we had wind. Plenty of it to spare in fact. The four Fireballs registered all went out on Saturday to at least sample the breeze (and water), with Joe Jospe / Peter Kelly and Phil Locker / Evelyn Simpson being the two boats to actually start a race. The 5o5s we shared the course with voted and stayed in to save their gear. Joe and Peter finished in fine style the one race held that day; while Phil & Evelyn made it as far as the final run before wiping out to windward and getting caught in endless barrel rolls before finally accepting help from a crash boat (writing off their mast in the process with a very bad compression bend at the spreaders). The club's wind gauge indicated mid twenties (knots) gusting into the forties. Yes, wind to spare, rolling right down the river valley and building some pretty big waves.
Sunday those still able to went out (as well as a couple of unregistered boats not shown in the results). Joe and Peter continued their winning ways in the strong breeze, taking 3 more bullets.
