Facing a variety of wind and weather conditions and intense competition from the top 20 Fireball teams in North America, the host Club managed to complete 10 races over the three day event. "It all came down to the last day and the last race" the duo stated, "and we missed first place by only one point.”
Having won the Canadian Fireball Championships last fall at Nepean Sailing Club in Ottawa, the team considers this as phase two of their three phase plan which will take them to the World Fireball Championships hosted in Barbados in the spring. "We are really looking forward to competing at this level and will be training extensively during the winter and spring season, in hopes of producing some good results at the Worlds," said Tipton.
