2023 Fireball Canadian Championships – Newell Sailing Club, July 7-9, 2023

Come to the Canadians! July 7-9, 2023 at Newell Sailing Club (NSC). NSC is located inside a provincial park where you can camp at a serviced powered campsite just steps from the club and your boat. Or you can tent on the club lawn. Sailors will gather around evening campfires to share fireball facts and fiction. For those preferring fixed-roof accommodation there are hotels in Brooks 10 km away. Lake Newell has relatively undisturbed winds for an inland lake due to being surrounded by low-lying prairie. NSC provides good race management and is a frequent and friendly host for the fireballs. In addition to superb sailing, the area offers good lake-swimming, road-cycling, nature-viewing, and the Calgary Stampede which coincides with Fireball Canadians and continues for a week afterwards.
Newell Sailing Club is 15 km off the Trans-Canada Highway. All roads lead to Fireball Canadians at Newell. It’s just 2 hours from Glenmore Sailing Club, 2 hours from St. Mary’s Sailing Club, 5 hours from Wabamun Sailing Club, 13 hours from Falcon Lake Yacht Club, 14 hours from Jericho Sailing Centre, 15 hours from Vancouver Lake Sailing Club, 16 hours from Cadboro Bay Sailing Club, 17 hours from Dillon Yacht Club, 22 hours from Arizona Yacht Club, 29 hours from Pymatuning Sailing Club, 32 hours from Nepean Yacht Club, 34 hours from Pointe Claire Yacht Club, and 40 hours from Davis Island Yacht Club.
Come and join us! Let’s make this the biggest Fireball Canadians in years!
